Here at Well Life ABQ, our goal is to teach the patient how to maintain a state of health. The more common approach to medicine, on the other hand, is more reactionary: We wait for the symptom to show up and get bothersome enough and then treat the symptom with a pharmaceutical or a surgery. Prevention or reversal of root causes is not a mainstay in our traditional way of practicing medicine.

Our membership plan assists patients in living a lifestyle that promotes wellness.  It is designed to keep you healthy and well, providing all the care you would receive as your primary care provider as well as many additional benefits you won’t find at a typical doctor’s office.  Membership is required for ongoing care at Well Life. We have found this model to be the best way to deliver in-depth care.

Well Life brings convenience to your healthcare whenever medically appropriate. Communication is best in person, but follow ups can almost always be done safely remotely. Many acute care "visits" can be done via video or telephone. If the condition needs in-person follow up, care will be scheduled appropriately.

Nutrition is one of the keys to optimal health since nutrition has an effect on one’s body every day. Nutrition is not traditionally taught in medical schools. Many providers fall short in treatment of many chronic conditions, as most medications are not designed for long-term therapy. The phrase "You are what you eat" is truer than what one might think.
Michael Pollan’s quote, “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”, is a great adage by which to live. Probably, the first two words are most important. "Eat food" means to eat healthy food … vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and, yes, fish and meat, and to avoid what Pollan calls "edible food-like substances”. You are either improving or damaging your health with what you eat.

In addition to what you would expect from any family practice clinic, we utilize many different modalities in our attempt to improve your quality of health, whether it is pharmaceutical or nutraceutical.

Routine primary care is provided for newborns to adults. We do everything that a primary care practice does plus we deliver it in an integrative way. This includes routine physicals, gynecological care (including pap smears), same day visits for acute conditions, and chronic disease management.

Aging is mainly the consequence of the long-term and permanent decline of all of the hormones in the body. As our hormones decline, many diseases will increase, while our quality of life declines. For example, common diseases, like high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, osteoporosis, and many others, may be the simple result of having long-term hormonal and nutritional deficiencies.

Therefore, many of the signs and symptoms of aging can be slowed, by correcting many of the underlying hormonal imbalances. Each hormone, as it declines with the aging process, produces physical changes, in every individual, which cause a person to look and feel older.  Well Life ABQ uses symptoms and advanced hormone testing to develop a hormone balancing and replacement treatment plan. We use the DUTCH test for our initial testing.
